Part 4 Idea Development

Thought Process

When I look at the wine bladder, I think of wine.

This object exists to conveniently sell wine. Without the wine, there would be no wine bladder. So, I knew that as this object serves a practical purpose, I wanted to shed new light on this object and use it to try and create something interesting and beautiful.

So I wanted to investigate the nature of light interactions with wine. I think that when liquid is transferred into a wine glass, light interacts really beautifully by refracting through the wine. I wanted to capture these patterns and use them as the point of departure for my sculpture.

These are some photos that document my experiments -

Process for experiments
need: goon, wine glass, torch, dark area
obviously - wine in glass, shine torch on liquid, record light interactions
